My grandmother died from alzheimer's two years ago. She battled it for 10 years. It was a slow progression where at first, she knew me but couldn't remember my name and I'm her eldest granddaughter, then eventually she didn't know me at all. Two weeks before she died, I felt a tug from God to visit her. I was alone in her room, I laid next to her and sang the same songs to her she sung to me when I was a little girl. Although by this time the disease had completely taken over as she couldn't speak, feed herself nor acknowledge you were even there, but when I started singing, her eyes lit up. She said, "oh" as if she remembered the songs and we shared the most treasured moment I had with her. Still brings tears to my eyes today. Thank you for this song. I look forward to hearing you sing at Grand Casino Mille Lacs on November 5, 2011.

Fell in love immediately.."Raymond" is an amazing song. Keep up the great work...hope to see you soon around the Nashville area, as I live in the suburbs. Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. :)
I'm from Vincennes, Indiana, and care for my mother, who is suffering through the early stages of Alzheimer's Disease. Thank you for the song "Raymond" and I can't wait to hear more from you in the near future.
Was just scrolling through i Heart Radio and found your music. GREAT STUFF there Pal !!!
I Especially liked It Ain't Gotta Be Love and Dream ..... I would say that the Hype below your pic on i hart was right on target. Fine Songwriter and Smoothe Bari voice. Long road I know but I have a feeling your gonna get where you are focused on going. You are definitely gonna make a fine career of the music industry ... hopefully as an artist but if you keep writing like the ones I've heard ..... you'll at the very least be sippin ' some cold ones out on the lake penning some great hits for somebody else and collecting royalty checks. Not a bad life either !!! :>)))
I am heading to the NSAI Nasville workshop this thursday myself for the Pitch to Publishers meet. Maybe someday I'll get the chance to write a song worthy of your talent and or co-write.
Good luck Pal .... Keep it up .... You got a GREAT Talent !!!! enjoy it !!!
RAYMOND. May the good Lord bless you for saying something so precious in such a special way. You musta' "been there". I work in a nursing home, and I wish this was MANDATORY listening for all nursing home workers before EACH shift. Sure puts it in a differrent perspective. This mornin one of my little ladies held my hand to her face and just kissed it. Now thats true love responding to true need, and Im not sure which of us had the greater love or the greater need. These little folks have soooo much to offer. If any of you didnt stop reading this comment when you saw it wasnt about 'crap', then you are the one who has a heart to maybe be "raymond" to someone. If youre lonely, if youre depressed, if you feel unfilfulled, if you have a need.... be aware**the best way to find your way to peace if not happiness, is to help someone else, and with these little folks, its often just being there for a little while, on occasion, and letting them hold your hand, and maybe give it a kiss. Adopt one.
My late husbands name was Raymond and if I live long enough I will be the Lady In the video waiting to see my Raymond's face. Thank you Brett for this song

I love the song Raymond. I heard it long time ago and instantly I had to look it up to see who sings it. Alzheimers runs in my family and this song really hits home! It would be great if some of the proceeds of this song/album would be donated to Alzheimers Research.

Just saw him play in a park in Lehigh Acres, Florida 2 weeks ago. Really amazing talent! I liked a song, I think it was called Shadow and he played Raymond! Also played a Steve Miller Band song called The Joker! Really great talent. He played for like 2 hours!
I hope you do a video with both "thirsty", and "It ain't gotta be love",
I have manage to vote for Raymond every day since you first were placed on the GAC list. You have a lot of talent, plus heart. I am a Hospice nurse, and believe me this song touches the reality of people with Dementia and Alzheimer Disease..These men and women often are the sweetest people. Thank-you for given them grace and dignity.
Sincerely, Beverly Detroy
